Knowing when it’s time to say “goodbye” to our beloved pets can be a very difficult decision. Aging pets often have severe arthritis or other underlying disease processes that significantly impact their quality of life. Dr. Cross can help guide owners through the decision process on whether to pursue palliative care or whether to consider euthanasia.
Companion Home Vet Care provides Home Pet Euthanasia services to Longmont, Boulder, Frederick, Firestone and all surrounding locations along the Front Range. Home euthanasia minimizes stress for both pets and owners. Instead of experiencing the anxiety of car rides followed by waiting rooms at the vet clinic, pets can stay in their own familiar environment with their family by their side. A sedative is given first to help pets relax, treat pain and help pets go into a deep sleep. Once the sedative has taken effect, euthanasia is administered and pets can pass on peacefully, surrounded by the people who love them.
Body aftercare is a service provided by Companion Home Vet Care, in which your pet’s remains are transported to a pet crematorium. Owners can choose private cremation (cremains are returned in an urn) or communal cremation. A paw print is included in the service fee and is made for any pet when requested by owners.
Additional information can be provided for owners who may need grief counseling.
